Report lauds economic impact of University of Alberta grads

EDMONTON – Over the years, University of Alberta graduates built businesses and non-profit organizations that generate an estimated $348 billion annually, with about 20 per cent of that in Alberta, said a new report on the economic impact of the campus.

Fultonvale filled for school year

Thanks to provincial funding, Fultonvale Elementary Junior High welcomed a total of 450 students into its building at the start of last week, a significant increase from its 310 student population last year.

Another drop off in Prairie Rose enrolment

Prairie Rose School Division has once again seen a large drop in the number of enrolled students.

The division is down by 40 students with the start of this school year, reported PRSD superintendent Brian Andjelic to trustees at Tuesday’s board meeting.

More than 40 per cent of Alberta students want to start a business after graduation: survey

CALGARY — A report released Friday by BMO Bank of Montreal said 41 per cent of Alberta students and 46 per cent of Canadian students see themselves starting a business after graduation, whether as a primary or secondary source of income.
