Spruce Grove city council approved leasing land in Aspenglen Park for a 30 metre telecommunications tower on July 15, 2013.

After considering feedback from residents in the area during a recent public hearing on the issue, administration ultimately decided to place the tower in the southeast corner of the park as opposed to the original proposed site that placed the tower in the middle of the park.
