24th Street set to open by year’s end

AIRDRIE – Airdrie commuters who have been patiently waiting for 24th Street to reopen may not have to wait much longer.

The City of Airdrie started construction on 24th Street (located on the west side of Airdrie) over the summer, and according to Bob Neale, team leader of engineering services with the City of Airdrie, the goal is to have the street reopened before the end of the year.

No privacy wall for Lineham Acres residents

Lineham Acres residents have hit a wall in their efforts to get the Town of High River to erect a privacy barrier to shield the community from noisy and bright traffic on the nearby High Country Boulevard connector.

After presenting their complaints to High River Town Council on July 16, residents were left in the dark about the fate of their petition until they received a letter from Mayor Emile Blokland rejecting their request on September 18.
