EDMONTON – The University of Alberta’s School of Public Health has become the only accredited public health school in Canada and the 50th worldwide, university officials announced Wednesday.
“It clearly sets us apart as a leader in Canada,” the school’s interim dean, Lory Laing, said after the announcement at the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy building on the university campus.

EDMONTON- For the fourth year in a row, the University of Alberta science faculty is raising admission requirements to reduce enrolment, which is now 600 higher than provincial funding covers.
High school graduates will now need a minimum mark of 80 per cent to get into the school.
