Funding approved for project to carry people into river valley

EDMONTON – A $35-million project to whisk visitors from 104th Street down the steep banks of the North Saskatchewan River is set to be complete by 2016, although details about what the lift will look like — and be called — must still be decided.

The idea of building a gondola, elevated tram, or funicular that runs from downtown into the Rossdale community has been discussed for years.

Cohousing project proposed in Diamond Valley

A unique housing proposal is back on track in Black Diamond and Turner Valley giving residents a chance to be in the driver’s seat to build a new multi-family development in one of the communities.

A meeting will be held in Black Diamond on Dec. 8 to give residents interested in joining a proposed cohousing project in the area an opportunity to learn more about the concept and join a group looking to build a project in the area.
