Strathcona County’s 2013 operating activity resulted in a $15.9 million surplus for the period ending Dec. 31, 2013, up from $13.4 million for the same period the previous year.

Town to discuss Cochrane Lake water diversion with county

The Town of Cochrane is going to be speaking with Rocky View County (RVC) about pumping water out of Cochrane Lake and funneling it into Horse Creek, which the county has been forced to do each spring and summer to avoid flooding in the area.

Action Park gets boost

Bowden’s proposed Action Park got a $50,000 boost from Red Deer County.

Council approved a request on Tuesday from the Bowden committee behind a new park featuring a skateboard facility, outdoor rink, horseshoe pits and picnic area.
