High River emergency room reopens
The High River Hospital emergency room is accepting its first patients since the June 20 flood.
The emergency room reopened on Aug. 8 at 8 a.m., the latest step in a phased approach to fully re-opening the facility.

Regional emergency partnership signed
The official signing of the Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership (GPREP) agreement brought representatives of the six neighbouring municipalities, the Town of Sexsmith, Beaverlodge, Hythe, Wembley, City of Grande Prairie and the County of Grande Prairie, to the community services building in Clairmont on Thursday afternoon. The agreement allows for each municipality to act together or on the behalf of another in the event of a regional disaster.

Emergency call centre set to open near hospital
The Alberta Health Services northern Alberta 911 call centre, currently located at the Peace River Airport will be relocating by late 2014 or early 2015.
Due to spacing, the centre, which is currently shared with Peace Regional EMS will be moving to a new facility east of the Peace River hospital, once it is constructed.
