CALGARY — Calgary home builder Cardel Homes is planning a 1,700-unit residential development in Shawnee Park after purchasing 52 hectares of land that was formerly known as the Shaw-Nee Slopes Golf Course.
The golf course ceased operations in 2011.

Cold Lake offering cash grants to new landlords
The oil town of Cold Lake is offering developers up to $7,500 per unit to build new rental apartments in the northeastern Alberta city. The cash offer is meant to help with “the housing crunch our community is facing,” said Cold Lake Mayor Craig Copeland.
