Building permits remained steady through April

New home permits in April kept pace with the same month last year, though the value of new construction fell off.

The City of Medicine Hat’s planning department reports that it OK’d 21 new home construction permits in each month of 2012 and 2013, but the estimated value of construction in the recent month dropped about 13 per cent to an average of $256,000 per home comparatively.

Edmonton’s non-residential building permits increase in March

EDMONTON, AB, May. 8, 2013/ Troy Media/ – The value of building permits issued in the Edmonton Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) increased dramatically in March. According to the latest Statistics Canada data, contractors in the Edmonton CMA took out building permits worth $850 million in March – a level that is more than double the total value of permits issued in March 2012.
