World’s first 3D-printed office building coming to Dubai

DUBAI – Dubai said it would construct a small office building using a 3D printer for the first time, in a drive to develop technology that would cut costs and save time as the city grows.

Construction on Downtown Library Branch

Construction has started this week at Red Deer Public Library, Downtown Branch. The Library and Café Noir will remain open during roof construction but the 10 minute parking area on 49 Street will not be available.

TransCanada: Alberta’s tougher CO2 rules bolster case for Keystone XL

Potential hydroelectric project discussed

The Amisk Hydroelectric Project, a 330 megawatt run-of-river hydroelectric project proposal for northwestern Alberta, could generate enough renewable electricity to power 250,000 homes. All the while producing minimal greenhouse gas emissions.

Canada’s shrinking economy could open door to second rate cut

Canada’s economy unexpectedly shrank for the fourth month in a row in April as oil and mining slumped, opening the door to a second interest-rate cut from the central bank this year, economists say.
