A head count confirmed what was pretty much expected: Cochrane’s population is growing.
A municipal census conducted between Apr. 1 and May 5, puts the town’s population at 18,750, up 6.7 per cent from the 2011 federal census figures.

Airdrie’s latest census is in and results suggest the city is continuing to grow at a rapid pace.
Airdrie’s population clocks in at 49,560 — a growth rate of 8.42 per cent from 2012. Overall, the population grew by 3,849 residents, or 11 new people per day. In 2012, the population only grew by 2,556 residents from 2011 numbers.

Sylvan Lake’s library is getting a makeover.
