Edmonton police department open the doors to new southwest community station
City police will officially open the doors to the new southwest division station on Wednesday morning.
The station, located at 1351 Windermere Way, replaces the current cramped and aging station at 9710 51 Ave., which opened its doors in 1976.

Calgary rental prices up as West LRT readies to open
Calgary’s newest section of the LRT line is set to change the face of the west side of the city when it opens next week.
Oneika Brown lives in a prime location — just steps away from a brand new station on the West LRT — but the added convenience comes at a cost.
Brown has been told her rent will soon be going from $795 to $995 a month.

Moving forward with Bearspaw station
RockyViewCounty(RVC) cleared the way for the Bearspaw Emergency Services Centre at its Oct. 30 meeting.
The county approved a redesignation and subdivision application to finalize an agreement with Rock Pointe Church to acquire a four-acre site for the future centre. Located near the intersection of Highway 1A and Lochend Road, the site is intended to provide the County with a strategic and long-term solution for the future delivery of emergency services in the Bearspaw community.

West LRT line will open Dec. 10 on time, city says (with video)
The west leg of the LRT will launch on schedule on Dec. 10. announced city officials Wednesday.
That’s the date former mayor Dave Bronconnier originally promised that the new $1.5-billion leg would open.
