City police will officially open the doors to the new southwest division station on Wednesday morning.
The station, located at 1351 Windermere Way, replaces the current cramped and aging station at 9710 51 Ave., which opened its doors in 1976.

RockyViewCounty(RVC) cleared the way for the Bearspaw Emergency Services Centre at its Oct. 30 meeting.
The county approved a redesignation and subdivision application to finalize an agreement with Rock Pointe Church to acquire a four-acre site for the future centre. Located near the intersection of Highway 1A and Lochend Road, the site is intended to provide the County with a strategic and long-term solution for the future delivery of emergency services in the Bearspaw community.
